Hi, I’m Sonya.

I’m a South Carolina–based singer, author, and United States Air Force combat veteran.

For most of my life, music has been a constant. I’m an accomplished singer of over 40 years, and it’s always been one of the ways I’ve made sense of the world—long before I ever thought of myself as a writer. Years ago, I started out writing children’s books. But life has a way of shifting things.

After losing my mother to cancer, I found myself in a season I couldn’t ignore. It made me stop, reflect, and really look at everything I had been through—every high, every breaking point, every moment that shaped me. And I realized something…I had lived through more seasons than I had ever allowed myself to fully process.

That’s where The Supernova Series began. Not just as a book… but as a way to understand what it means to fall apart, to rebuild, and to become something stronger in the process.

Everything I create now—my writing, my music, even my jewelry line, Stardust Dreams—comes from that place.

A place of healing. Of growth. Of learning who you are on the other side of the hard things.

I don’t believe in perfect paths or having it all figured out. I believe in real life. In resilience.

In finding meaning in the moments that change you. And if you’re in a season of becoming…you’re not alone in it.
